Looking Back at 2024: A Year of Writing, Growth and New Beginnings

  As 2024 comes to an end, I find myself looking back at everything I've written, the challenges I faced, and  the milestones I achieved. This year had been a rollercoaster - balancing a full-time job, personal life, and my passion for writing as never easy, but somehow, I kept going My Writing Journey in 2024 This year, my focus was mostly on short stories and my ongoing novel, well mostly my novel. I started the year with fresh ideas, high motivation, and a clear goal: to write more and write better. The weather was neither gloomy nor sunny, rather comfortable. I noticed the time and was alarmed remembering that my mom would be back from work by 5.00 pm and I still had a list of chores to complete. I decided to complete all my chores before she came. So I jumped out of bed, plugged my work laptop into the power supply, and stormed out of my room.       I barged into the kitchen and started by washing the vessels piled up after lunch. On second thought I decided to welcome her with a cup of tea. I poured some milk, lit up the stove, reduced the flame level for the milk to boil, and continued with the dishwashing.      " Pshhhhhhhh.....                  “ Bick… bick… booook…bick… boook… ”, the early-rising birds flutter around my house singing, the first sound that greets me every morning. Time moves slowly, Vincent comes home to clean up. He diligently cleans the house and lights the prayer lamps, even though he doesn’t share my faith, he does it for my happiness. He starts preparing the food for me and a little more, which he later will be taking to the orphanage nearby. Then he cleans up the pigsty and grooms the plants and flowers in the garden. Over the year, some of my pigs have died, and now I am left with 3 pigs and a cute little mischievous piglet. I often spend time sitting out by the fence, engaged in conversations with these little creatures.      After completing the work around the house, Vincent goes out to his other day job. He will return to prepare dinner. During this time, I find myself alone in this spacious house.    ...
